Our Obligation

This site exists because a reader in Uganda trying to judge a broker deserves an account written for that purpose, not a sales page dressed up as journalism. We take on a simple obligation: to describe what the broker offers, how it behaves in practice, and where the gaps are, in language a non-specialist can use. We are not the broker. We hold no account on the reader's behalf, we open nothing, we accept nothing, and we give no advice.

The duty runs one way. It runs to the person reading, not to the firm being reviewed, not to an advertiser, and not to anyone who would prefer a kinder verdict. Everything below explains how we try to keep that duty.

Why We Publish

Most information about brokers reaches Uganda through affiliate links and promotional copy, where the recommendation and the payment come from the same place. Readers cannot easily tell which sentences were written to inform and which were written to convert. We publish to separate those two things.

Our reader is someone comparing options before committing money, or someone already using the broker who wants a second, sober view of fees, execution and support. The site is written for that person alone. It is not written for the broker, and the broker has no say over what appears here.

Review Method

We examine the broker against a fixed set of criteria rather than an impression of the website. Those criteria cover account types and minimums, the fee schedule and how charges accumulate on real trades, spreads and execution under normal and stressed conditions, deposit and withdrawal routes available to Ugandan residents, the trading platforms and their reliability, the quality and responsiveness of support, and the clarity of the legal and risk documentation.

Each criterion is scored on a defined scale, and the reasoning behind each score is stated so a reader can disagree with us on the evidence rather than on trust. Scores are not weighted to produce a pleasing total, and a weak result on any criterion is reported as a weak result. We do not adjust a verdict to match what readers might want to hear.

Testing is repeated rather than inherited. Where a figure can change, such as a fee or a minimum, we verify it ourselves before it is published.

Sources and Verification

Facts come from the broker's own published terms, fee schedules and product documentation, from direct observation of the platforms and account interfaces, from test transactions where we can conduct them, and from support exchanges we have initiated ourselves. Where a claim cannot be traced to a source we can point to, it does not go in.

Every page is checked before publication and rechecked against its sources at intervals. Figures that move are the first to be re-verified. When something has changed, we correct the page and note that it has changed rather than quietly overwriting the old text. If we get something wrong, we say so on the page.

Revisiting Pages

A review is a photograph, not a certificate. Pages are revisited on a rolling schedule, with the most consequential material, fees and withdrawal terms, checked most often, and the whole page reviewed at least once a year. Any change in the broker's published terms, or any reader report that contradicts what we have written, triggers an earlier check.

Where a page has not yet been re-verified after a change we know about, we mark it as pending rather than letting an outdated figure stand unqualified.

Funding and Limits

The site pays for itself through advertising and commercial arrangements that are kept away from editorial judgement. Payment does not buy a score, a sentence, or the removal of a criticism. We do not accept payment for a verdict, we do not let a commercial party review a draft before publication, and we do not publish material we cannot stand behind. Contact reaches us through the contact form on this site.

A review also has limits, and we would rather state them. It describes the broker at a moment in time and cannot predict how the firm will behave later. It cannot tell you whether the broker suits your circumstances, your tolerance for risk, or your tax position. It is not advice, and it is no substitute for reading the broker's own terms. What it can do is give you a documented, independent account to test your own decision against.
